No fix I'm aware of. The 98's had a 3 wire ECT, 99 and up 2 wire and goes through the PCM before registering. It's fairly accurate in the lower and high temps once past the "210 range." Only option is an aftermarket gauge and adapt it into the plug on the passenger side head.

Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A, 00 FBVert, 78T/A
you would probably need to get a pillar pod and a gauge to get an accurate temp gauge like the 98's.
For the life of me I don't understand why GM did not put in accurate gauges for performance cars. I can understand for general passenger sedans, but not for cars built for performance.

Our cars actually have an accurate temp sender that feeds the PCM. Not sure if it is a standard 0-5 V signal that can be intercepted or not. Also not sure if that same sender feeds the POS stock gauge as I never looked at the schematic.
