Hooking up Oil pressure gauge, and Temp Gauge
Today I stopped down at my friends store and I wanted to look into getting some gauges for the 99 and was thinking it would be alot harder to hook up on an ls1 compared to a older 350 or 455. And some issues came up as i was thinking more and more about it and i thought you guys would know best.
1. How hard is it to hook up an Oil Pressure Gauge and Temp Gauge for more accurate readings.(at the track)
sence i bought a piller pod i kind of want to use it.
2. Should i go with electric or mechanical gauges?
3. and how should i go about hooking each gauge up
I might get a air to fuel ratio gauge from AEM coming this weekend too
so with any information to help it would be great

I would go electric for the oil pressure. That way you wont have to run an oil line into the car like you do on old school gauges

I agree, I have an electric full sweep 0-100 psi for oil, there is an auxillary port on the block near the oil filter, take the bolt out tap and thread it, screw on your sending unit then running a signal, power and ground. I also have an AFR, got the pig tail from SPeed inc to just hook it up to my passenger side o2 sensor. No Sweat.

For the fuel pressure yes, just as you said there is a place on the fuel rail to connect it. I wouldnt worry about getting another engine temp gauge.
