budget minded performance mods
hello all im pretty new to the site,as you can tell by my posts. built a few street rods and a 74 blazer with a stroker and some sqeeze, for the sand dunes and mud bogs. my question is being new to the computer controlled world of performance, what are some inexpensive easy mods i can do for my z/28 that i purchased about a month ago? already have magnaflow catback ,k&n filter, and hypertech programer, car was bone stock when i bought it. any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
nothing is really cheap for ls1 cars.
if you can install the items yourself youll save alot of money.
air lid is about $100 and about a 10h.p bump
nitto555r tires are about 300 for a set and really make a difference off the line.
pacesetter headers are about 500 for the coated ones and off road y pipe.
a tci stall converter is 500-600 and you get great gains2000 nhra edition formula
a few bolt ons, 379 rwhp

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
stay away from a new MAF, the stocker are good for up to 500hp, and most people have had a bad experience with aftermarket once. Me I got lucky no problems with my slp.
also check into the freebie mods that you can do your self.
Also build from the ground up, meaning suspenion and braking before power, if your lookin to build into big hp later on.
subframe connectors are a must for a first mod,
lid
underdrive pulley
CAI
are a good bolt on start!! for under $300.00

Navy Blue Metallic- 2001 WS6
Cut the bottom of the airbox out, buy a lid, and do an exhaust cutout. These things should easily knock of more than 3 tenths. If you take it to the track go on a 1/4 tank of gas, take out the spare and jack and any other loose things you have in the car, and drop the rear tires to 22 psi at the track and inflate to 40 psi in the front(make sure to set the tires back to normal pressure before you leave the track). All of
these things should get you down to a 13.0 13.1 in good weather in a 2000 model.
