    Vibration?

Hey I just started having this problem where I am having a vibration infront of the steering wheel. It only happens when I'm stopped starting to move and sometimes when its getting higher in the rpms, doesnt happen when in neutral. Would you guys know what the problem is?

OK....do you mean the dashboard shakes or what? What do you mean "in front of the steering wheel"?
Do you have a auto or manual?
    What mods if any?

Definitely need more info like Sarge stated...

Some of the more popular things that cause vibration though are:

    - unbalanced/bad tire
    - engine mounts
    - transmission mounts
    - drive shaft out of balance

Check your wheels also. i had some bad vibration on the steering and I have a slightly bent wheel. The wheel were also out of balance. Other things to check is the tires itself and their tire pressures. My tires looked okay but they had 20psi in them. Now they are bad.

Do you have any play on the wheels? If you rotate the tires to the back, does the vibration follows?

All the stuff that 35th mention could cause vibration too. Check for a bad u-joint at the driveshaft and the tranny mount.

I am thinking the same as 35th, but you posted when you're stopped...which makes me ask if you have an aftermarket crank pulley on your car. If so, you might want to look into that as well as some underdrive pulleys will cause a vibration while the car is running but sitting idle.

Even at idle, you get a vibration?

It is not as loud at idle but it is faintly there but around 2100 rpms is when it hits it's peak vibration

I would say motor mounts if at idle and as the RPM goes up the vibration gets worse if you get it when the car is sitting still.

The vibration is coming from something that is turning or spinning if the vibration gets worse with RPM.

Perhaps a pulley that is unbalanced, etc.

How would you check if the pully was unbalanced?

Look at it with the engine running and see if it wobbles or is bent.

    "doesnt happen when in neutral"

6spd- a4? Check torque converter bolts if it's an auto.. Check Pilot bearing if m6..

another thing to check is the little bump stops that rest on the axles... they dry rot... more than likely you have a bushing or mount that is shot...
