Preferences in trucks
So im shopping around for a (used) 4x4 truck for the winter, i've looked at alot but its not easy being a chevy guy. My question is what is your preferences in trucks? i think ford makes a pretty good truck not sure on dodge, and chevy is ranked up there as well. I think if i get a good deal on a ford i might just take it.

I really like the looks of the Tacoma/Hilux, but I've heard they can rust pretty bad and then the bed falls off. At least in the American market I've heard of that. Good if you live in the desert I guess.

They're all pretty similar. Anything with an extended cab or 4 door would be nice to have.

Black/Screaming Yellow- 99 S/C TA WS6 & 04 Cobra
I have always liked the Ford Rangers. I have had two of them and they drove really good and lasted a long time too.

I'm lookin' for a 4x4 for winter as well. Lots for sale so there should be a good pool to choose from (do you shop for them on craigslist?) A friend of mine hates dodge trucks..somethin' about how they handle around corners at higher speeds.. I don't remember exactly what he said...

Ford or chevy will get the job done, and last forever.
Dodge or Foriegn use the cheaper steel and have too many recalls.
one of my first cars was a 1977 Ford 4x4 supercab with a 460. Powerful truck, never any issues and ran.
currently i have a 2010 Silverado 4x4 ext cab Z71. Great truck for the first 4200 miles. LOL

one thing about alot of 90's-early 00's chrysler products is that the paint is garbage, always coming off. Not a big deal for a beater, but it might promote rust

i like that Ford F 150.looks like a 95 or 96 w/ eddie bauer trim.nice truck i want one of those myself, the 300 inline 6 would be my choice of engine in the F 150,strong for a six and a bulletproof engine.with a 5-speed it would be awesome! back when they were doing cash for clunkers, there was a F 150 traded and per the rules of the govmt program the engine has to be destroyed, the oil would be drained, some abrasive put into the engine and ran wide open throttle until the engine siezed.well most engines would run less than a minute before lockup (including 2 small block gm v8s),but the 300 inline six ran wide open for 8 minutes before lockup!
