2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
Wish list for new hydraulics/ clutch
OK so my slave cylinder is going out, this caused me to slip my clutch last week, so now I'm just going to replace it all.
Master - Tick Master
Slave - RAM or OEM
Clutch - LS7
Flywheel - Aluminum
What I've been hearing the most about are Spec stage 3 clutches, and Tick MC.
My car is stock for now, but I plan to mod it, nothing too crazy, but I plan to be in the 400hp range at some point.
So list off some things I should look into, and whatever I feel is best at the time, I will edit up top, and maybe make a poll.Last edited by Spikito; 10-11-2010 at 05:58 PM. Reason: updating current wishlist

Tick sells complete kits....might be an option. They have an LS7 kit, and this one

Ive heard good things about their MCs, but I dunno about everything else.
A full SPEC set up was about $1300

I've been doin research on the same thing & most will say that the LS-7 w/ the tic master will feel close to stock & hold 400-450hp

I would steer away from Spec. I have the Spec Stage 3+ and I don't like the off the line chatter. Many people have it with Spec clutches.
I would consider the LS7, Monster, or RAM clutch over the Spec.

Contact Mark at Kentucky Speed (kyspeed.com). He can get you everything you need. The LS7 clutch is a great option especially if you are only mildly modifying. The Tick MC is a fantastic work of art. I posted a list of parts on another post- I'll look for it.
edit, found the list:
Pilot Bearing 14061685
Rear Main Seal 89060436 (or get the FelPro kit that comes with the cover gasket as well for the same price as the GM rear main seal)
ARP Flywheel Bolts 30-2802
ARP Pressure Plate Bolts 134-2201
GM LS7 Clutch Kit
98-02 F-Body Slave Cylinder
Tick Performance Adj Clutch Master Cylinder
Tick Performance Remote Clutch Speed Bleeder LineLast edited by bberretta; 10-07-2010 at 10:39 PM.

I have the spec 3+ and have put over 2000 miles on it and never chattered once. I also have the tick adjustable master+speed bleeder and I love the set up. It's alittle mean compared to the stocker. But IMO still a great setup for DD. Get ahold of mark at Kyspeed that's where I got everything. Mark if definitely the man when it comes to this stuff, he even sat not the phone and talked me through the install on the tick. (you better have small hands) :0)

Took the SS out today, first time in about 3 weeks, changed the oil so I took it around the block.
This thing is killing me.....Obviously the hydraulics are bad, every time I get it, the pedal is on the floor, gotta pump it up, but I'm not leaking any fluid. The pedal still feels squishy all the time, and my engagement point moves every time I push the clutch.
Sometimes it engages real hard, right off the floor, and other times its smooth and i have to come up a ways.
what really gets me though, is that it seems to hook pretty good at low RPMS, with ASR off, I can get sideways at 3k RPMS, or break the rear loose in 2nd from a 30 roll, but if I'm up around 50, 4th gear, and stand on it...then the clutch slips pretty good.
Whatever......but regardless I'm replacing it all, don't feel like hunting down a gremlin
