do i need a code for theft lock?

hey guys i'm looking at buying a monsoon radio from a 01 trans am for my cousin's restoration 99 trans am and i was wondering if i needed a theft lock code if i put it in. or can i just plug it in and go?

you should beable to just plug it in and play atleast in my experince iv never had a radio lock on me....

ok cool but if it does where can i get codes and how would i put it in?

If the radio had the anti-theft code set and was then disconnected from the battery, you will need that code to make it work when you go to reinstall it in your car...

There is a thread on here somewhere about how to go about obtaining the code...
