110 MPH speedometer on Z28
My friend just recently bought a 1994 Chevy Camaro Z28. Its got the 350 ci LT1 engine. It puts out 275 HP and 325 TQ and the speedometer only goes up to 110 MPH. I have A 1994 Firebird Trans AM GT with the same exact engine and everything and puts out the same HP and TQ but my speedometer goes up to 160 MPH. Can anyone tell me whats up with that please?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
IDK about 2 piece. 2.73 cars did come with a steel DS (vs aluminum for 3.23 cars) but it's all in 1 piece. My 02 was a 2.73 car. Not any more though. Along with 3.73's I went with a stock aluminum DS.
I know about the top speed limiter as my 96 Z28 vert wouldn't go faster than 118 mph no matter how hard I pushed on the pedal (trust me, I TRIED!). My next door neighbor (who was a GM mechanic) told me that verts were limited to 118 mph regardless of tire type.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 03-13-2010 at 08:24 PM.

The cars limited to 118 (except the verts?) had 225 tires, correct?

I've got a 155 mph speedometer, but an electronic speed governor at 112 mph. '98 z28 with W-rated tires, not sure what they were stock.
