STS turbo
I am new to the site, so I hope you guys can give me some much needed info.. I just bought a STS turbo for my stock engine and I have heard a lot of crap about these systems. I have also read were some say it is a good system. I am having it installed @ a local speed shop and I need to know if there are things to look for or tell these guys I want done to get the best results. Also, for those of you running this kit on stock engines what is your opinion and what kind of HP are you getting? Thanks

G'day and welcome. I know a few people who run the STS systems on their cars and they like them. You'll get a lot of different opinions here on them though. As for hp gains - all depends on the psi you run at. 5 psi might add 75 hp or so and 8 psi might add 150. A lot depends on install and tuning. You may see more or less. I wouldn't run any higher than 9 psi on a stock engine though. Let us know what the results are.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

I really dont want to exceed 7 psi right now because of fear of tearing something up. I figured these kits had been out long enough that someone would no the tricks to making these kits work. I am worried about excessive lag...

typically for forced induction you hear 40-50% hp gains... so lets say you gain 40% and stock you are 300hp... you'll end up with 420hp...
are the people that are installing it also dyno tuning your car???

I've never seen one at the track that ran worth a damn, sorry.

Hey Ryan, you should gain no less than 20-25hp per pound of boost. If you get less, then the tuning is jacked!

My STS kit put down 425wrhp/446rwtq at 4psi (had a boost leak, normal is 5psi). I haven't dynoed it since, but I am running 10psi with meth now, my butt dyno says about ~525rwhp though.
