A7X+ Dream Theater = New album!!! (rock/metal)
Ok. So, for anybody who is a fan of rock music in general, has probably heard of Avenged Sevenfold. Well, at the end of last year, their drummer died. I am not a die hard or hard core fan of this band, but I do like their music. I am, on the other hand, a HUGE fan of Dream Theater.

According to the statement on their websites front page, it states that they have entered the studio with Dream Theater's drummer, Mike Portnoy. I know he probably will not be a permanent replacement, but I am now super stoked for this album to be released!!! I love Mikes drumming, and he is considered one of the top drummers in the world.
Here is what Mike Portnoy said about it:

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I saw Dream Theater for the 1st time back in 92 or 93 when the song "Hold me under" (from Images and Words) was getting airplay.
And I agree, Mike Portnoy is an amazing drummer.
I look forward to this comming out as I like A7X also.

Its actually "Pull Me Under". But yeah, I know what you meant. I saw them for the 1st time about 6 years ago. They opened for Megadeth, along with like 5 other bands, including Fear Factory. I also drove from here (MI) to New York for their 20th anniversary show at Radio City Music Hall. They don't get any airplay around here. I heard "Take Me As I Am" one time when "Train of Thought" came out.

Sorry bout that. I shoulda checked (I have every CD they've ever put out).
My younger bro and myself both play drums. We'd heard the song "Pull me under" on 105.5 KNAC (a now defunct LA metal station who's motto was "If it's too loud then you're to old" and claim to fame was discovering Metallica thru a tape submitted to their Local Licks program in the early 80's, they're on the web now as KNAC.com), I bought the CD and when it was advertised that KNAC was having them (with the Glactic Cowboys) in a small theater setting (~3500 seats) we decide we had to see if they could pull it off live.
They stated at the begining of the set that they were constantly trying new things and improving songs and, while we'd be able to identify things, please don't be disappointed if it's not exactly as it was on the album. AFAIC, any and all changes only made what they did better. I've been a fan ever since.
