I had a 90 Firebird with the 305 .. they make pretty good DD.. sad thing is you can get a good LT1 car for the same price you can get a 3rd gen and the car is far superior.

I would say unless it is really cheap i would pass...
Get an lt-1 or a 2nd gen for the same price and have a 6 speed or a cooler car...

I have a 89 Formula with a 305 which I overhauled myself
and I put a ram jet 350 cam in it with headers and little things but otherwise she's all stock. I love her look though I do like it better than the lt1 look and I'll post pics of her when I get home. I think I have some in my profile if you wanna check it out.

they are cool looking cars no doubt .. Im just saying a 86 is 23 years old .. even if it has been taken real good care of it still has age on it .. The 4th gens were better built cars .. a upgrade to the 3rd gen ..

Damn, thought it was a turbo T/A at first. Anyhow, it seems people want a premium for a third gen in good condition (nowadays), so you might not get as much bang for your buck.

thats not the exact car but the one i am looking at looks the same. its in perfect shape. the motor has like 20,000 miles on it. 5 speed. the rear end has been pretty much rebuilt. the seats are all out of a '02 ws6. in great shape. i really want to kno was it would look like with some zr1's or z06's on it but thats going to be a hard combo to find to judge on.
