My Stock Z28 needs a mild pick-me-up..
I'm looking to give my stock 2001 Z28 a pick me up. Its got a completely stock engine, >50k miles, with a 120 shot of nitrous (that i'd like not to give up). Looking for a heads and cam package that won't kill daily drivability. I am prepared to install new suspension/drivetrain components, with a mild budget.. i will admit; i am a novice. i need help.

You are going to want long tube headers and supporting exhaust as well.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
If auto a 3400 (or so) stall will wake it right up and knock ~.5 second off of the quarter. It won't hurt drivability much but it will affect MPG a bit depending on how you drive.
1st thing should be a set of weld-in SFC's so you don't twist it in half. Doesn't add HP but makes for a safer more solid car.

Its an auto; please recommend a sponsor for subframes; i like putting money back into this site... well, don't recommend them if they suck.

Just got mine from them. Fast and free shipping. UMI 3 pt. I went bolt for the ease of installation.
A shift kit greatly improved my car without any drivability problems.

Take a look at UMI, Spohn, and BMR, make sure you get weld-in SFC's.

I've got Spohn 2pt weld-in, and it definitely stiffened up the chassis.
IMO, I would get the headers either before or at the same time as the heads/cam pkge if you budget permits.Last edited by Blue28; 11-24-2009 at 10:08 AM.
