    timing chain

ok guys doing a cam swap in my 02 ss here soon an was wounderig is it worth the time an pain to put a double roller chain in or just put a new single in. i no with the double you have to move the oil pump out an the o ring sometimes gets messed up an there for no oil psi an i dont want the lol. So what you guys think???
OO an also im thinking of going with the ms3. wanted the ms4 but the ms3 just seems more of a street cam for say.
Any other cams i should look at?

Just get an LS2 chain from the dealer.
You just need the chain, not the gears.

I don't personally like the double rollers. Some create space issues.

You probably don't want my opinion of the Magic Stick series for a street car.

Ditto Ls2 timing chain nice cheap upgrade. You have to remove the oil pump to replace the chain anyway, so you might as well upgrade to a hiflow oil pump, and consider new timing gears while you have all that apart.

Be extremely careful with the oil pump O-ring. It is not hard to get it right, but if you get impatient and jam the oil pump back on you can pinch it...then you have to take it all back apart again and do it right.

Hard to advise you on cams without knowing your plans for modifications and use of the car... Cam depends on boltons, heads, etc: Race car? MS series. Street car? 224-228 or a Torquer 2 for a more aggressive street cam. Custom grinds, infinite possibilities.

Careful not to overcam a street car, you may not be happy with it in the long run. Best of luck

I did a 228R with a 113LSA, very happy with it. Still pretty torquey with much stronger top end. On stock heads/LS6 intake it peaks at 6000rpm

im shopping for a cam swap also. I called texas speed and got great advise, answered all my questions. I dont know what all your car is set up for but mine is a street, not dd, m6, stock heads, stock intake (so far), 100 shot n2o, and full exhaust. I was recommended a 228, squared or 228/232. 580ish lift and 112 lsa. he said that would peak at about 6200, shift at 6400, and set redline at 6800.

Also recommended ls2 chain, no gears. ported ls6 oil pump and comp springs. actually he did urge for the dual springs. good luck with your swap!

Injectors are not really needed for a cam only LS1. It won't hurt anything to upgrade, but you can keep the stockers.

what are your injector load at with the cam ?? i would think once you get your cam in your load will be very high ..high enough were they should be changed.
