Door tweeter removal?
How the hell do you get the little metal clips off that hold the tweeter in without breaking off the plastic piece?

When I replaced my door speakers with componets, I had to remove those plastic peices for the new tweeters to fit, good thing cause the first one I tried broke anyways.
Might try asking a car audio shop or the stealership, I'm assuming your trying to put factory speakers back in.

I am replacing the factory speakers with CL-61CV from Kee audio.
When you removed your old tweeters how where they mounted in the hole-screws,clips,etc.

My factories had the little metal clips, I put alpines in cant remember the exact model. I'm assuming most aftermarkets mount the same way, you don't need the clips. Mine went into the factory holes, then a threaded trim ring on the outside to hold them in. Just a little sanding/utility knife since the factory holes were not quite round.

oh, so I have not look at how the new ones mount.
So imay not need the clamps.Good.
I purchased new factory tweeter a year or so ago and that's when I could not get the clips off in fear of not being able to remount factory ones.
Thanks

yeah just any ole way to stick 'em in there works fine. i just yanked the factory metal shit out and glued directly to the grille. then i blew the tweeter and the replacements are on the way... will have to see about getting them put in properly but no doubts it'll be aight.

when i did mine, i pulled metal and all out with stockers. My A/D/S tweeters happened to sit perfectly in the stock grill holes using the flush mount bracket. i was able to glue that to the door panel. Looked stock. the tweets had grills incorporated so no reason to try and fit stock grill back over them.
