cylinder exploded.....
So I was driving my newly rebuilt engine the other day and the engine blew. My mechanic(not for much lonfer) took it apart and my number 4 cylender piston blew up.. anybody ever herd of this happening?

That sucks man, I honestly havnt head of that happening before. Did he say what caused it?

oh ya sorry to hear about your loss...................
maybe hydro lock, cylinder 4 is normally the problem

roads were bone dry, and it was just rebuilt. I am waiting to see what actions the shop that built the engine is going to take, prob none. but I am looking at a 408

any idea if my fast 92/92 prc 2.5;5.3 heads and ms3 cam will be ok on a 408, and what did you pay around 3800?

ya all of those will swap right over. although you might want to go with a bigger cam (up to you). i ended up paying around 4.5k after some upgrades (callies crank, rods, ARP bolts, etc) and shipping. you might be able to find a used stroker, but i didnt want to waste time.

ms4??? I just got done putting 5 grand in this engine. I mean with in the last 6 months. I am in no hurry to drop another 4 on a block.. I am still waiting to see if the mechanic is going to cover any of this.

well he is not covering it. Might not have been his fault. But he is giving me a new lq9 block for $500. And he said he will cover all the machine work to be done on it all I have to do is get the stroker kit. What do you guys think 408-418-or 427. My goal is a mean street machine to put the imports around here in check. na for right now but maybe a lil spray later

Stock- 2002 Camaro
i would go 408 for sure. that way later you have room to freshen up if you need to.

yeah I am thinking 408. forged and maybe a 200 shot later on down the road. should be hovering around 9. high but still 9's maybe. but I am fine with 10's

well 11 seconds is about how long it will take for that thing to snap... I had my engine doen and broke the 10 bolt before i even got it home from the shop. My ls1 put me in the 11's so witht he 408 I am hoping for high to mid 10's and with a bit of gas hopefully 9's

glad to hear your engine will be hear soon, get a moser now or a 12 bolt
