FUUUUUUU. Cam install got the best of me today.
Well, The cam install just whooped my ass. And I havnet even changed the fucking springs yet. I am NOT looking forward to that what so ever. I repalced my LS1 chain with an LS2 so I took my oil pump off and pick up tube. Re-installed and then realized I needed it off to see my dots. FUUUUUUUU dealing with that pick up tube bolt is a bitch. So I take it off and find this...
So I was pretty upset... But then I thought about the bright side. At least I didnt put the entire engine back together and start it up and have zero oil pressure and have to rip it apart again!
Heres a few pictures of my dot to dot though. I think its dead on, tell me what you think. That part came REALLY EASY. Second time I put the chain up I had it nailed. Lucky.

I have a friend who I call O-ring Jon. While he had the smallest hands, it was his duty to do the oil pump. The pump was brand new Z06 pump, but didn't come with an O-ring. Had to reuse the old one. (still in good condition). Put everything back together after the H/C install. Start it up and DAMN!!! Zero oil pressure. At first I thought it was the Oil Pressure sensor as we all know, that most likely we will break at least one during the install. Take the intake off and the inspection reveals that the sensor is fine. It has to be the O-ring. Maybe its pinched? Nope. take everything apart again to find out there is none. Jon forgot to put the old one back on the new oil pump.
DOH!!!!!

Your going to put Duracells in your car, now I finally know the secret to max horsepower
But in all seriousness, at least you found the ring torn before you got it back together. Thats all that matters.┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

Yes, very good thing you did have to take it back apart. As we all know, nothing worse than putting something together that takes hours and hours only to find out you have to do almost the whole job apart again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LS1howto. Follow those steps and modify them as needed.
Do not follow thier way to make sure the cam will fit. They tell you to "pray", and leave the coil backs disconnected so the engine doesnt start. If you hear any loud noises... you screwed up.
Yea, dont do it that way.

You got that right.
Well, more bad news... I bought to long of pushrods for these heads that have been milled so much. 7.3 came out, I bought 7.4.
Base circle being SOOOOO close to stock, 7.3 is going back in. I forsee major problems with 7.4's.
My life sucks right now, have to wait to Tuesday to gets my new PR's. I drained my rear end fluid and will be ordering my 4.11 gears tomorrow hopefully. Sonofabitch.
