    Need snow tires!

Well I hate to say it but my WS6 is my daily driver and here in Chicago we have had some snow. Man my car was horrible, I knew driving a stick would be bad but the tires on the car are still pretty good, it was just bad. Anyone know any good snow tires that will help me? I am on a budget to. My car has stock wheels and is '01.

I wish I could help... yet no data on anything like ours with snows!

Can you have studs up there?
I bought a winter beater to avoid this problem! Is there any tire
    place U know/trust? Ask them?

ehh i do alright with my cooper all seasons...but i also put 200 pounds worth of sand bags in my trunk to help...i'd suggest the same...then just put a blanket or something over them...that and go to tirerack and look for some winter performance tires

I have Continenal on mine 225/55/16 on the stock 16"rims. No problems during the three days when we had snow on the road so far.

Yeah today was bad for me, I put bags of salt in the back, but did not help. I have eagle 1 tires on mine, and they suck. I went to tire rack but they don't have just winter tires for my car. I am going to get some all season tires. I would rather buy a beater, but I can't afford that. Just makes me want to cry driving such a nice car with low miles in this horrible weather.

So I got hung up today in the giant snow/ice storm. I power braked it till it hit the road and then launched the car and turned around.

    All season suck in ice...

Bridgestone's Blizzak and GY's Ultra Grip Perf are great tires in snow. How much are you willing to spend?

I saw on tv a couple of months ago studded tires. The cool thing with them is they have a seperate chamber so you add air to them to get the studs to pop out, otherwise it performs just like an all season tire.

I run studded tires on my car and they work great, however I don't think studded tires are legal too many places in the lower 48. I'd say your best bet for studless tires that are reasonably priced are Bridgestone Blizzaks

A few people run the studded tires locally.. You can tell where they lay down rubber by missing pavement.

Anyone know a good place to buy cheap set? Linky?
