Did a tune up... DAMN
Pulled two of the wires out, finally fought and got them off and the heat shields. Arms are all chewed to shit and back now. Maybe when my headers are on it will be easier. Too much shit in the way........ Fucking smart engineers can blow me!!
P.S. - Left the heat shields off is that a bad thing? I put in NGK's and MSD wires.

if you're planning on doing headers soon I can't see it doing very much harm...

No big deal on the MSD wires. The heatshields would just rattle around on them anyway because there is a difference in diameter.

I put headers on my LT1, but not my LS1, yet. I remember what my hands and arms looked like when I was finished.....not a fun job, but the first time I went to the track with the headers I was pretty happy.

Yeah my hands are sore as hell, arms are bruised, not fun at all. I didnt plan too well and started it sunday afternoon so it had to be fixed for work on monday.
I have brand new Hooker Ceramic L/T's sitting in my spare room waiting to go on. Now I cringe everytime I walk by them lol.

Would a tubular k-member make changing them any easier? Im thinking that removing all that egr/emissions crap sure would help alot.

I know removing the egr stuff helps....don't know about the k-member.

Tune up...
Well, chew up your hands or pay $600 to have it done for you. Suggestion: get some mechanics gloves and cut the fingertips out for "feel", cheap fix, and save your $600 you would have to pay a mechanic to do it for you!!

I have had bad luck with LS1 MSD wires failing!

the headers really won't be that hard to put on. The only tricky part is how high you have to get the car in the air. I suggest keeping it at normal height taking everything off then raising it high enough to slide the headers into place and then lower the car back down some. It has to be pretty high to get them in and I never feel safe under a car that high on jack stands.

Has anyone installed headers on a LT1 and a LS1? I have done it on a LT1....is is harder or easier on a LS1?

I've never done the LT1 headers but from everything I read they're a bigger pain in the ass than the LS1 headers.

lol... i've done plugs but this last weekend i did fuel injectors and found that to be a much more severe hassle for some reason. my hands were covered in grit and oil and had strange welts and cuts on them - and i wait tables for a living! lol. had a few customers ask wtf happened to your hands?
