what does this hose do?
ok long story straight i was installing my torque arm yesterday. when i was pulling the old one down there was rubber hose that was clipped to the old torque arm well not paying attention i pulled it out. it does on the top of the tranny? so my main question is it important and, what does it do?

Not really important to reattach but if you blow some trans fluid it will leak on the trans and may hit the exhaust and catch fire. But that is the worst case.

There is a white plastic thingy on top of the trans that it attaches to. Kind of hard to get at, but if you can I would plug it back in. This is what it looks like -- the open end kind of threw me but this is how it is supposed to look. The hose to the right of the plastic thingy goes to the transmission vent tube and the one to the left runs down the tunnel and clips to the torque arm. I zip tied my vent hose to the fuel and/or brake lines in the tunnel when I swapped out to a tunnel mount torque arm.

It is right on top of the transmission. You should have enough slack to fish it to one side and then re-connect the hose. You can also use a floorjack to lower the transmission a bit to create more working space. Start by unsnapping the lid on your air cleaner so as not to put undue tension on it, then unbolt the transmission crossmember (4 bolts) and lower it a bit on the jack. Don't get too carried away with lowering it as you don't want to pinch or break anything at the back of the engine.
