chirping sound
The T/A has developed a chirping sound while at idle. It seems to go away once the engine s brought to 1500-2000. The belt looks a little worn but nothing bad. I was wondering what it could be.

Pop off the belt, still chirps, pop off the AC belt, still chirps, then I'd check for a loose spark plug, header gasket leak, and hope not a head gasket...

If it sounds like it's inside the valve trane, it could be a bent push rod too.

The belts get tempermental, I have the best luck with the AC delco belts. 99% it's the belt.

Wasn't there a big problem with the belt tensioners doing this?
