295 tires rubbing!
I have recently got new wheels and tires for my car. And once I put them on the guys told me that the back end rubs a little bit but I had no idea why. I've put the car on a lift and looked where its rubbing and its on the inner tire and I can't seem to find the problem! if you guys could give me any input/advice that'd be awesome!

Inner tire as in on the tread, or on the side wall?

I was thinking it was the bump stops but I wasn't for sure. The back only rubs when I'm either turning kinda sharp or accelerating hard when my back end squats down is when I rub the worst.
The wheels are front 18x9.5 and rear 18x10.5.. The tires are 295/40/18 (back) and 275/40/18 (fronts)
And I'm not sure if I have enough room or not. My tires aren't ridiculously tall so I have enough room to run spacers

Here are some more pictures of the rears.. It cuts it close but I'm still not sure if I have room to run spacers.Last edited by TheRed2kTA; 08-13-2016 at 01:04 PM.

I run the same size on the rear also. It's definitely your bump stops rubbing. Take the wheels off and grab a grinder and just grind down the sides of the bump stop so they are even with edge of the wheel well. Probably a good time to replace yours since they look pretty rotten. You can get regular rubber or poly replacements. Sam strano website has some Jeep poly ones that fit our car. That way you get all new hardware. The rubber replacements you can find are just reproduction stuff without all the hardware. Just depends on the kind of ride you want.

I took off my wheels a little earlier today to see if anything was showing.. And it wasn't my bump stops actually it was like the inner finder was poking inwards to much so I took a mallet and pushed it out a little bit, then went and drove my car and it's perfectly fine now. No rubbing on corners or hard accelerations!

Glad you figured it out. Easy fix. Your tire must run wider then most 295. That's not usually a issue on TAs until you get into 305s or 315s.

Yea. I've never seen this being a problem for our cars.. But I'm glad it wasn't anything to big and it was an easy fix. And yea I figured once I hit 305+ sizes I would start having problems but seems that it was just part of the cars body and pushed in a little to far I guess
