Turn signal lever....
Its actually my high beam switch that is not engaging. Its very limp and will not switch them on. Turn signals work, wipers, cruise control, everything just not the high beams. Anybody know how to fix this? If i have to replace the whole lever where would I get it and how do i remove it? Thank you all in advanced.

Its most likely just the dimmer switch. Mounted on top of the column about halfway down connected to the turn signal lever with a rod. Usually have to drop the column to get to it

It is really limp. Has alot of play, I don't even feel the rod that goes to the dimmer switch. If I do this myself, could I cause te air bags to go off? Stupid question maybe but I got quotes at 200 without them knowing what else they needed. Anybody have a link to somewhere that would guide me how to get in there to fix it myself?

ok guys i found my problem. I was looking around and this little guy fell out when i took of the covers of the turn signal lever.
P1000452.jpg This is a picture I took from google.
I need to find a way to put this guy back. The way it works is the turn signal rod pushes on this guy witch then pushes on the dimmer switch rod. Only picture online i could find online is this one.

Of course this is not a trans am but its the closes thing i could find. I can not see behind the turn signal switch though. I wanted to ask one of you willing to take their covers off and take a pictures of the actuator switch so i can figure out how this sucker goes back in. I would appreciate it.

Hmmm. I think you will have to remove the steering wheel and airbag to put that piece back into the column. Judging from the pic, looks like that piece just slides back into place. Let us know if you need anything else. Do you have a Chilton or Haynes manual?
