Career change, yuck
Well I decided things weren't going to get any better so I signed up for Active Duty Army today as a Abrams Tanker. Being a NCO I get to start out as a gunner then make tank commander, pretty cool. I also get a $15,000.00 bonus for re-enlisting. Sucks cause I'm quiting my Federal job but I need to get away from Knoxville. My stomach has been in knots for the past two months so I need some peace. I'm going to Ft. Knox for Armor School then wherever I get stationed at. We'll see what happens, wish me luck guys.

I was in the Reserves, thank goodness I didn't have to go through MEPS again! I'm looking forward to this though, should be fun and interesting. I'm sure real Active duty will be completely different than Reserve Active Duty.

Best thing is figure out what you want to do the rest of your life and start taking classes on it ...I know in the Army you can take test to get your next rank so be studying that ..

yeah I've got to get prepared for the E-6 board since I've never been to a promotion board. The Reserves does things completely different. I'm going to take some more correspondence courses to get some more points. I'm kinda nervous though, hope I don't get stuck with a bunch of assholes. Oh well, whatever happens, happens..

dont worry ...the Army is full of assholes ....ha ha ....j/king... boards are pretty easy I used to help guys study for them all the time when I was in the Marines ..
One thing you will notice about active duty is all the friends you will make .. You will be around people all the time ... Just dont try to be to " Gung Ho" and get to know your tank real good , so others know you know your shit ....

Thanks and I'll do my best! I look forward to making new friends and getting the tank experience. Sucks cause I won't get to see my kids much but it's what's best for me at the current place in time. I'll keep ya'll updated on when I move and where I get assigned, might run into some of ya'll. Hopefully I get a stateside assignment so I can take my camaro, if not then it's going in storage.
