    3.73 gear swap

i have had 3.73 gears for over a year and haven't had them put in yet because i have been getting mixed opinions about them compared to the 3.42 gears. I have had friends tell me there will be slight difference in speed but my drivability will be a lot worse. anyone like to share their opinion. espically someone who has 3.73's ?

every post ive seen always recommends going with the 4.10 swap, since with 3.73 the gain isnt that much. I installed 4.10s recently and there is a big difference and the driveability is still fine for me. It's a daily driiver and I still can't complain. Yes there is alot more shifting though. There is no reason why 3.73 would be worse, so I say go for it, but recommend opting for the 4.10s

thanks for the info guys. I got the 3.73's for a steal at $72 so i think i will stick with them for a while, if i desire more take-off i will surely go with the 4.10's. (then some better tires )

I used 3.73's for a couple of years, 'till I messed them up, I liked them...thet seemed "just right".

Now I have 4.10's and I like them better, makes the car a "beast" grappling for traction in 1st and 2nd.

I use the 4.10's in my 6 speed and they are great. supposedly like putting 3.73's in the auto.
