Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
Well i was going to just rebuild it. So that kit that is 599 is good for everything? Better than that 500$ tci kit? Looks like alot more stuff.

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
And i see that it includes
▪ Paper Gaskets
▪ O-Rings
▪ Lip Seals
▪ (3) Molded PistonS
▪ Sealing Rings
▪ 4L60E Corvette 2nd Gear Servo
▪ Friction Clutch Plates
▪ Steel Plates
▪ 3-4 Alto Kolene Steel Kit
▪ 3-4 Alto Red Eagle Clutch Kit
▪ 4L60E Filter
▪ 4L60E Heavy Duty Kevlar Band
▪ Teflon Pump Bushing
▪ Delco Front Seal Retainer Clip
▪ 4L60E Superior Shift Reprogramming Kit
▪ Hardened Pump Rings
▪ 4L60E 13 Vane Rotor Gear
▪ 4L60E 13 Vane Rotor Guide
▪ 4L60E 13 Vane High Rev Kit
▪ Heavy Duty "Beast" Sun Shell
▪ Heavy Duty 29 Element Sprag
▪ Heavy Duty Wide Rear Sprag
BUT,
I dont see a 2-4 band?
I dont see anything that has to do with 2nd gear in that kit, and thats what is what is damaged on mine..

your right I don't see it. I did not use this exact kit. they built my trans using the same stuff they offer in the kit. You can call them and ask if has what you need but call preformabuilt as well to see if they offer something like that. Monster is an hour up the road from me that is the reason I used them.

my buddy ordered a Monster trans for his truck and even though it was "In Stock" it took 34 days to get it. Yeah, that was super lame.
Also my opinion is that if your gonna have someone rebuild your trans, let them choose the rebuild kit (with your input of course). I've rebuilt a few 4l60E's (mostly stockish), but I'm no super expert on performance trans. If you're gonna buy a Performabuilt, get the level 2 or 3. If I was gonna buy one, thats what I would do.

Performabuilt is a great idea, but i dont have the cash, i can buy a rebuild kit that can handle 500 hp, for 500-600 bucks, and get my buddys shop to do all of it for 400..
So..

No clue. I don't see how that would affect the 2-4 band that much. But I've always wondered how that little band ever did survive much. Guess that why they make wider bands and bigger surface area "corvette" servos.
ok then how about the hughes kits on Summit. Slightly cheaper and still good parts inside.
The main things you want in a performance rebuild are a 9 clutch disc 3-4 clutch pack, beast sunshell, and a shift kit. since you've just had a 2-4 band problem you should look into 1)a bigger/better servo 2)stronger and or wider bandLast edited by Cutlass; 03-03-2010 at 05:32 PM.

I was looking at that, and the TCI kits. Go back a page,
The thing is, this monster kit has SO much stuff its like free candy almost.
Ill have to call and make sure it is what i need in the morning.
I just wanna make sure this is all done right even tho im on a big budget, bc i hope this is the only time i every have to deal with the trans.

no you were looking at the TCI kit. I'm talking about the Hughes Performance kits.
But I do like that Monster kit better. Go for that one.

Yea i saw them,
And if that Monster kit has the 2-4 band stuff, then it is golden? Since it has servos, sunshell etc.Last edited by Cutlass; 03-03-2010 at 05:42 PM. Reason: removed non-sponsor direct link

I don't know about syn and fresh tranies. meaning I really don't know lol, would like to. Not sure how that works with the clutch packs. I see people us it in fresh rebuilds I just don't know what effects it has on those new parts as far as run in.
