I get the same feeling when we are 'stalking' a bear hunting. They are powerful animals.

Most families are 'armed' with pepper spray up here.

What is exactly the consquence for that? I assume with a good record it would be a fine for the first time... but then again I guess it could depend on the gun laws of whatever state you're in

To be honest with you I don't know, I'm sure it would just be a fine of some sort. I need to check into it just to make sure I know what would happen. Although if I had a bear attack I'd most likely just kill the damn thing and keep on walking.

Me and some friends were white water rafting in Baxter State Park in Maine. The Penobscot river I think, been a long long time..Anyhoo, we were sitting at the pinic table eating a late night snack of bacon wrapped scallops we fried in a pan and some other stuff, Ritz crackers, some Ham, it was our last night an we were just sorta cooking whatever was left..
We are all just sorta chatting and drinking a beer when Hal hears a sound from the other end of the table..We turn and look and there is this f*cking Bear licking one of the frying pans.. I shit you not. We scattered like children, hell I ran THROUGH the fire after shoving my girl at the time ahead of me..
Bear snagged the fry pan in its jaws and lumbered off into the bushes...
We ALL slept in our cars that night..
