Is your mid-pipe "409" stainless or aluminized steel, because from the picture it looks pretty coroded? The steel wool and acetone works better for aluminized pipe or pipe that isnt coroded and also "304" stainless that doesnt corode. If you had to sand the pipe, from my opinion, I wouldn't have bothered, I would have just cut it off and put a new one on! If it is "409" or aluminized it will corode even faster after sanding with sandpaper .

Just looked it up and "Borla" quotes it as being Aircraft Quality T-304 Stainless Steel. But what they dont tell you is that everything that you see is "304" but what you dont see is "409". SLP also sells some of their stuff with quotes like that. Oh well, it looks good!

on me, I can always put another pipe in there like you mentioned before. It never sees weather either, so hopefully it will hold up a while. I still got some work to do though. I do appreciate the help and info a lot btw
