    power loss

Hello everyone! Maybe someone has had this problem before.Car is a 1984 camaro Z/28 5.0 H.O. 5 spd.,which now has a 5.7.has Jet chip.Problem is extreme loss of power when flooring the gas pedal.makes the quadra bog sound, but not a bit of get up and go.otherwise idles and runs fairly good. The person who put this motor in,5.7 now, with 5.0 H.O. heads, did a number on the wiring it seems, and even left the knock sensor off the motor and swaped the 160 degree thermostat that's needed for the Jet chip, for a 195 degree.well i fixed all that, and isn't getting hot anymore.checked fuel,ESC,knock sensor circuit retarding like it should, replaced ECM and used the same Jet chip from previous ECM,thinking the ECM wasn't advancing the timing,or was advanced all the time, which is how it acts.plug gap and cap and rotor, wires all good. One question I have is, would the pickup coil or mogule in the distributor or even the ignition coil cause this kind of behavior? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem once with a 350 TPI, found that i left a ground wire off on the back of the drivers cylinder head. Put the ground wire back on and the car came to life.
    just my .02 cents
