Uploading pics of the engine project now. Will probably be able to pull the oil pan tomorrow night and get a good look at everything.

Silver- 1999 Trans-Am, 2012 Sonic
Spent the day in the ER getting a bunch of tests done to the ticker. All tests came back ok witch is Awsome however don't explain why I feel the way I do. Tomorrow meeting with my doc to go over things and schedule a stress test and possibly some other's. Oh the joys of getting older! Looking forward to years ahead so some changes are in order I'm thinking.

I've had 2 stress tests now. They are useless, and expensive. Good luck and hope you get it figured out
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Hope you guys get things sorted out. No news is sometimes good news when it comes from a doctor.
Getting stupid cold around here for a day or so. Other than continuing work on the engine i have some closet doors to install this weekend. Should be pretty mundane.

Thanks for the reminder. Just realized the Hagerty bill is still setting on the counter awaiting payment.
Today blew by pretty quickly. Not sure how it suddenly got to be almost 9:00 p.m. I don't think we have any set plans for the weekend. May truck up to Corning again on Saturday for a bit.

right...that's what I'm hoping too. Gotta do brakes on the wifes ride today at some point. Hate doing that stuff when it's this cold out. I'll heat the garage but then I have to keep the door down which means I have to back it all the way in and I start running out of room in a hurry. Her back's for sure need it so I'm hoping I can get away with just doing those today and save the fronts for a couple weeks until it warms up. Her back's always go first which is just mind boggling to me that the backs wear faster than the fronts....goes against everything I've ever known about brakes. My GTO was the same way and I've decided it was because both have the solid rear rotors instead of being vented. That's the only thing I can come up with at least.

Every time I had to do rears including the first change from the factory set the rear rotors were wiped out on the inside tearing up the pads. My buddy has a autoparts store and he said most rotors on the market are made of junk steel anymore. One thing I found on my trailblazer was after the dust shields rotted and I ripped them off I had a lot less brake issues. Lastly my buddy went to a brake seminar and they were adamant that all the brake parts and mostly wheels were Tourqed to spec and there again my brake issues seemed to drop in changes.
Heading out to work shortly and another blast of snow with possible white out conditions and dropping temperature (it's only 8 here now) also possible thunder snow is on tap for tonight. Really looking forward to it! Believe it or not but the salt and stone mixture freezes solid in the bed so we have to every few hrs dump off and reload. Please God bring us spring soon...

I did a lot of reading on rotors not too long ago. There are no rotors built in the U.S. anymore......they all come from China. Some are "finished" here but the steel is all china steel. When people trash ebay china rotors it makes me smile.
I've also known about properly torquing lug nuts for years. It takes a little more time but cranking them down with an impact is extremely hard on rotors. If I have tires put on somewhere I always redo them when I get home so I can torque them correctly. I've had a long standing theory about that also. It's not the fact the impact puts them on so tight......I know my cheap ass impact probably only torques to 140-150 ft/lbs but what kills rotors is them being torqued unevenly. I always torque in a star pattern and use a torque wrench so I know they're consistent. Very rarely have rotor problems these days.

2nd issue of the day.....amazon vs ebay. I used to be a fan of amazon. They really screwed up my last order though and even after bitching about it I wasn't totally satisfied. Today I ordered Zach some kick pedals for his drums. Amazon recently moved something to Ohio...not sure if it was distribution or corporate but the end result is I now get charged tax on my orders. Deal breaker. I'll be ebay only from now on. Went to order the pedals today and noticed $12 in taxes....no thanks.

I get everything I order from Amazon for free so no complaints here.

Heading out in the garage in a bit to play with the MUTT motor. It was a non-spectacular day -- not bad but not great.
