Heading out to the garage to try and find the cause of an annoying rattle in the ass end of our Suburban.

Tuesday greetings. A little snow overnight here and more coming today. Yeah, it is going down to the bottom of the thermometer this weekend.
Hoping I'll be in the office today. I was on the road yesterday for Court from 8:15 until 3:45 so really didn't accomplish much of anything.
Last night, I began the tear down on my brother's engine for his M151 A1. After setting everything up in my work space, I pulled the spark plugs, scoped out the bores and after pouring a little oil in each cylinder I rolled the engine over to see how things felt. I then pulled the rocker cover and carb off it. Kind of a neat setup really. The 24V ignition and charging systems are totally sealed from moisture, it runs an auxiliary vacuum pump in place of what would be a fuel pump on most old school engines, it has a "log style" exhaust manifold, and the camshaft runs down low in the block on the passenger side of the crankshaft. My brother has collected a complete engine gasket set, spare carb and a new water pump for it so far.

M151 A1 are fun as hell to drive. Major problem with short wheel base but still fun.

Will probably continue tear down on the pseudo-jeep this evening. I remembered to cut some labels at the office yesterday for bagging parts. It's the only way to keep stuff straight besides taking lots of pictures.
