I believe all cars from GMMG up to 380 HP came with the factory warranty.

Of course, I don't think GMMG would be in their right mind if they had decided to put a 3 year/36000 mile warranty on a 427 LS1!!!

2: Underneath the hood, kinda like the 345 HP models, it had a special lid that also said 380 HP.

3: And finally, with all my mods, he beat me 2/2. I checked for mods on his side but could not find any. Granted he could have had cam or heads but I did not notice a lumpy idle and with all the other evidence. I know nobody in their right minds would put head/cam over SFC and such like that.

Yes I have, but it was not a GMMG. Tach totally different and the lid wasn't the same.

There were 69 ZL1's made. Just like in 1969. The Dale Earnhardt edition is listed at 381hp because he chose the number because the numbers of his NASCAR cars, 3, 8, 1.

They have several 380 HP versions. Or for one more HP (I guess the Dale Earnhart name gives it 1 extra HP??? ):

I guess I did fail to mention that these 69 ZL1's were built bu GMMG as a C.O.P.O. They were built with different hp ratings like bww3588 said. This information came from GMHTP magazine. It is true that no SS's came from the normal channels (Factory or SLP) with any of these packages.

I've only seen one in a magazine once and that SS is guarded by the owners with their life because dale earnhardt had signed the visor and now that SS always has front row parking at any car event it goes to. Very very rare car indeed. wish i could take a picture.

you don't gain a lot of power by adding a catback exhaust to an SS camaro, they already have a 2.75" exhaust anyway. the regular Z28s have a 2.5" exhaust, so going to a 3" catback does free up more power.
add to that ^ some 1 7/8 LT`s and what do you estimate that gets you in extra hp? just curious?

I wasnt around on LS1.com back then WISHED i was.....Had my 02 SS since ordered on 9/01 recieved 12/01-with 10 miles on odometer....it would have helped me make better informed decisions SO......i kinda dont mind reading the old thread...BUT it did make me go check ,,,what i already pretty much knew.....I DO have the Y2Y and WU8 on the RPO..car was ordered here in CA. Chevy dealership. Came with an SLP booklet made in Canada St.Therese. ALL 02 SS `s were either shipped to SLP or modified by SLP ! for Hood ( under hood/mine clear coated) Tail/spolier,wheels etc..and yes some even had more mods to make them SLP # SS cars.

Just means that when you post, you "bump" the thread to the top of the section.

Still wondering why this one was bumped with no questions or thread additions. I guess if the guy wanted us to keep an eye on him... he's doing it right ???

My sig has what my car put down at the rear wheels before I did the true duals. Stock it was 306/323.

The 1-7/8's LT's aren't doing you any better than 1-3/4's unless you have the heads and cam and can spin the engine over stock redline to take advantage of them.

And, Like Andy said, a "bump" (post in a thread) is moving from where ever it was in the order to the top of the section. To bump a 6 year old thread you'd have to know what you are looking for.
