    The FOAM.......

Whats the general consensus on ''Sea foaming'' your engine? To cleanout carbon build up on top of pistons etc?

I used it on my old jeep cherokee. Worked fine, just be sure not to suck it in too quick and risk hydrolocking the motor. Use a small vacuum line and take it in slowly while someone else gives the engine some throttle. Then run the second half through the fuel system.

I use it with great results (Tore apart my motor for H/C after using it and you could eat off of it)

I use it like this (2 bottles)

1/2 bottle in the oil for 50 miles before the oil change
1/2 bottle through the brake booster vaccum line (Use it like 5.0This has said)
1 bottle in the gas tank after fill up.

I do this once a year and did it right before my build and used with PP and oil changes every 3000 miles, my motor had not a hint of dirt in it. My friends and myself were shocked how clean it was

Thats what i thought!! I did it once and was not too sure what anyone else`s thoughts were?It smoked afterwards like a mutha! but the smoke was not dark or black so i guess my cylinders were not that carbonized huh?

Another key thing that I do is when I suck it through the brake booster line, I kill the motor right after the last of the bottle goes in. I then let it sit 20 minutes soaking before I fire it up. When I fire it up I gas it pretty good or go out for a quick hard run to break up anything in there and burn up all the Seafoam.

Probably 100+ ways you can do this but I'm happy with how I do it so

When I used it on my old Corsica everyone that was behind me (Approx 3 cars) had a nice lil smoke screen to drive through

Could only imagine what they thought was going on

I remember reading a thread on here once not to Sea Foam your car using the Brake Booster line, because the way our intakes are shaped it wouldn't reach all of the ports. Instead to suck it from the PCV hole on the intake in the front. Also remember hearing Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner is way better.

If you are worried about the intake then just open up the throttle body and spray Seafoam Deep Creep in the intake. I've heard seafoam is kinda harsh on gaskets but I'm not worried. Also heard AutoRx is better stuff but again, I'm not worried.

Not sure about it not reaching all the ports and also part of the "Seafoaming" procedure includes the T/B with Deep Creep ,Its best to take the T/B off and really clean it out good ! The reason i would take off so get all the carbon build up off between the T/B housing and butterfly flap PLUS if you just use the red thin straw type applicator that comes with the can it has a tendency to shoot off the can into your T/B and into the galley,I had this happen to me It took me a while to retrieve it but i did w/o having to remove my intake manifold!

Down the PCV Port does seem to work better. Also just plain water works well also

Yes. People have been doing it for a long time. In small amounts it can act to "steam clean" combustion chambers.

Look up meth injection systems, they are mixed with water.

Let me clarify my previous post - I wouldn't use water alone. Meth injection with a water mix solution has been proven like N2O to be used as a great power adder, but it can like N2O when miss or overused lead to engine problems.

Suck it through your slurpee straw and like sea foam don't try and suck in a lot in one shot and its fine
