That wasn't a stab at you. What I meant by the pig remark vs the original concept is that when the SS silverado idea was first introduced to the public, there was talk it would be possible to order one with standard cab and a 6 speed T56 and RWD for a "REAL" sporty truck. Instead they all came one way, bigger, heavier extended cab with a slush box and I believe all of them were AWD. That kind of killed it for me, and really killed the performance potential of the truck too. Still neat trucks though.

Yeah, I didnt think you'd answer my questions. In case you missed them, I'll post them again:
Ok so I'm assuming then. Why dont you tell me your mod list. So ok, you have a stroker and nitrous. Did you actually put a 6 speed in yours? My guess is it's a 4l80, which you probably needed for it to hold up. Still a four speed.
And why do you want to see my truck? It's a stock 04 GMC 1500 rcsb 5.3. Nothing special.
Me thinks you may have gotten lost in this argument man, so let me summarize: I made the comment that the new 6.2 trucks are better than the older silverado ss in every measurable way. You replied that they werent because the silverado ss trucks are better looking. I replied that looks are subjective. You then came in with some vague suggestion about racing the two, without telling me anything about your truck. I then pointed out that a new 6.2 truck modified similarly to your truck would indeed win the race, which is true, regardless of what modifications you have, since the newer 6.2 trucks are starting out with 60hp more, and a motor with alot more potential in terms volumetric efficiency, cylinder head design, etc when modding. And a 6 speed transmission that works much better than a 4l80e at keeping the motor in the powerband. From there on you've done your best to deflect and not answer my questions, or offer any opinion on wether you think the newer platform represents a stronger starting point than a silverado ss. What your truck has done to it is immaterial in this discussion, yet you keep coming back to it.
FWIW I like the Silverado SS, I think they're cool trucks (and indeed better looking than a newer Silverado-but not a new GMC
)
I agree with this. They should have had a rear wheel drive option, like the TBSS' did. And the 8.1 liter (I think it was still around in 04?)Last edited by 5.0THIS; 04-17-2012 at 10:45 PM.

Yes.- bunch of them
I got nothing to add. I do find it amusing when a new 6.2, Tundra, or Raptor rolls up like a boss and I bust that ass. The differences in the 800/900 aren't as much as you would think, and yes, I'm aware the improvements of the 6 speed and boxed frame- But you would make it seem like it's Rocket ship technology. I also seem to be able to school the newbies in a 426 HP SS in a bolt on/tune LS1, so again, not impressed.

Clearly, he seems pretty cool about the whole woods thing. Never would have thought he was a fan of vvt, he surprised me. Mostly he talks about killin' fools, telling people to back the F up before they get smacked the F up, etc., but his knowledge base on the 3.6 is overwhelming....

I still think they should have used it instead of the 3800 in the last of the 4th-gen camaro and birds..
