Non of these bands are Nu or New Metal
Trivium is the youngest closest to Nu, however they changed, are now more melodic shred or thrash like Testament
Arch enemy melodic metal, wouldn't list them as black metal. Dimmu bogir is black
Machinehead has been around forever, they are melodic metal
Poisonblack has been around, was goth metal now just metal
Pain has been around for awhile, they are more industrial metal, and progressive
Black label society, that's zakk wylde he started playing with ozzy in 1988, zakk is just pure metal.
As long as its not screamo or singing out of key, its just metal....

Sorry don't like any of it and the second to the last's opening was nothing short of fucking anoying. I think I made it through 16 seconds of the microphone feedback sound before shutting it down..

To each their own I guess..

pantera is one of my favorite bands, and dime was a huge influence in my guitar playing as a kid.. but there is one bad thing about pantera, theyre dead, forever.
closest thing to sounding like pantera is Throwdown.

yeah poisonblacks first CD was with a different singer and the band had a total different vibe and sound. Then the lead guitarist who started poisonblack decided he wanted to sing, and has sang on their last few albums. He was also the lead singer for a band called Sentenced.

Really looking forward to the new one from MachineHead.
Although it will be tough to follow up The Blackening....

In Flames released a new album yesterday. Chimaira has a new one coming out soon, and so does Five Finger Death Punch.
