Do you need special skills to be a laborer, no. They do have an apprentice period which focuses on safety and most efficient way to do whatever tasks are part of the job.
Non Union companies also have apprentice programs.

Once again untrue and you know that.

Why are companies nowadays non union, simple, because companies spend billions per year on anti union companies to come in and devolope for lack of better words scare tactics.

From the consumer standpoint is simple, save a buck now but good luck with your kids finding a job that pays over 30k a year in the future.
Theres very little manufacturing here in the US and will be even less in the future.
Go back about 50 years, when America’s middle class was expanding and the economy was soaring. Paychecks were big enough to allow us to buy all the goods and services we produced. It was a virtuous circle. Good pay meant more purchases, and more purchases meant more jobs.

At the center of this circle were unions. In 1955, more than a third of working Americans belonged to one. Unions gave them the bargaining leverage they needed to get the paychecks that kept the economy going. So many Americans were unionized that wage agreements spilled over to nonunionized workplaces as well. Employers knew they had to match union wages to compete for workers and to recruit the best ones.
Union membership has steadily declined the past 50 years. Absolute irrefutable truth.
50 years ago we needed Unions as we did not have labor/fair wage etc. laws that we have today. Huge difference.
From the History of Union Labor in America
The changing conditions of the 1980s and 1990s undermined the position of organized labor, which now represented a shrinking share of the work force. While more than one-third of employed people belonged to unions in 1945, union membership fell to 24.1 percent of the U.S. work force in 1979 and to 13.9 percent in 1998. Dues increases, continuing union contributions to political campaigns, and union members' diligent voter-turnout efforts kept unions' political power from ebbing as much as their membership. But court decisions and National Labor Relations Board rulings allowing workers to withhold the portion of their union dues used to back, or oppose, political candidates, undercut unions' influence.

Looks like a 40% decline in Union membership to me. Today it is less than 12% by the way......

People don't need unions anymore... If they don't like a company they more on to another.... Wage rate laws like the Davis–Bacon Act make it fair for all workers

Not sure what type of business you have sarge, so I'm not sure if PLA's effect your company. I have been fighting PLA's for about a year now.

Project Labor aggrement. Obama wants all federally funded projects over 25 million dollars be built by union only contractors. It's a payback to the unions for helping to get him in office. Google executive order # 13502 ( government endorsed discirmination)

You would of been better off walking down the street to pick up a hooker or two. The president is from one of the strongest union cities nationwide.

Anybody that works for a union must care about obama because part of their dues went to his campaign.

This is a major example for you, whose team do you join the only guy putting up an argument against 20 people or join the other team that has better points of view and more proof. I am going with everybody else on this factor expecially since obama has to do with unions seems like the only thing I hear from obama is seems like unions are a bunch of

You dont know a thing about unions yet call them BS, very very educated
