are 243 heads a direct swap?

Just curious,what's an estimate on labor for heads and a cam,I know ill have to get it tuned. I'm just wondering about how much it is

Me and a buddy did mine, the estimate from the shop was 1000$. I still ended up spending 500$ getting a tune.

Yeah, a tune is essential. If you find the right shop, H/C is cheap. If you are gonna change intakes, make sure you do it then whn you gt the heads/cam done cause it's free then.

Naw I'm gonna keep the ls6 one for now. I want it to look stockish under the hood. A friend of mine is gonna get a new 5.0 sometime this summer. So I have give able to whip his ass

Agreed. I want to get a FAST eventually, couldnt afford one when I did the H/C so I bought a ported LS6 and slapped it on there.

Yea same here,eventually I would like to do a motor build for a pro charger set up. I think I'm gonna order a ported throttle body as well,I want every bolt on possible.

Yeah get one off ebay. they are 50-60 bucks, and I could tell the difference in throttle response.

If you want to run with the new 5.0's you'll need it. Better do heads and the cam then. Probably along with a converter, and a gear change if you don't have at least 3.23's already. I don't think heads alone will do it for ya.
With your goal in mind I'd probably pass on the LS6 cam, go a little bigger and put a stall in that thing. Leave nothing to chance.

Those new 5.0's aren't anything to take lightly. My neighbor bought one, and it's a runnin' son-of-a-gun. Hangs with my wifes car that traps 111+ mph and that mustang is quicker out of the hole too,,,and that's right out of the box still with a temp tag on it
A few tricks and bolt ons and I won't stand a chance. After a few months of being out, most of them will be modded too.

Agreed, ported tb seemed like it pulled harder everywhere. Worth it for $75 to get the ebay one.
