clunking noise coming from rear?
So today my car started to make this awful clunking noise while turning. Kind of sounds like someone is hitting the bottom of the car with a hammer. This noise only happens while I am turning. I did just put on SFC the other week and I torqed them down to the recomended amount. What do you guys think the problem could be?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
When was they last time you checked the diff gear lube?
If never then try that 1st and add posi additive. It might be the clutch plates in the posi sticking.67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

well I finally had time to tear the cover back off the rear again and its gone. The magnet was covered and there was metal shavings all over. All the gears looked fine until I noticed the spider gears look like they are chewing through the side of the housing that holds them in. I will have pics posted later.
I got hold of a local fbody scrap yard and I am picking up a complete 3.42 rear.
Will i need to do anything for this rear to fit in? I now have 2.73 gears
