Brickyard 400 Trac Car#10- 35th Camaro SS/LE Vert
Strano
F:550 lbs R:150 lbs non progressive rate, much easier for the shock to dampin the compression & rebound stroke.
1.25" lower ride height, track tuned and tested...needs a good shock.
SLP
F:300-450 lbs R:115-185 progressive rate, more difficult for shock to dampin the compression & rebound stroke.
.50" lower ride height, ??? about track time...??? shocksLast edited by redracer1; 07-07-2010 at 09:42 AM.

does edelbrock still make springs for 4 gens? I remember hearing people talk about them making the car real low but I haven't heard anything about them in a while

maybe a stupid question:
Can i use the "SLP springs" for a 2001 3.8V6 Camaro, Koni 's are already on the car.
I don't want the car to low, i am living in the Netherlands (Europe) and in city's here are a lot of speed bumps, but i need some stiffer springs.
but most of the stiffer springs are lower 1,25" to 2" (eibach, Strano's).

I'm gonna say yes about the springs on a v6 because I know you can take the v6 factory spring and put it on a z28

You can but keep in mind that they are designed for having the weight of a V8 on them. Without that weight they my feel stiffer than normal. But mechanically, they'll fit. They will lower the car but not as much ad Eibachs and Stranos.

i do already have SS-swaybars (32-19) with Koni's Single adjustables.
I am never been in Amerika, but here in the netherlands, almost in all city's (living area's) we have speed bumps, and they are different in height.
so i can't take to much drop, 1" with Hotchkiss is maybe a solution,

Oops please don't me
Koni's are awsome.
SS bars are better but 35-22 are best. I guess what I was getting at is if your looking for better performance and you cant go to low but want to handle better a set of 35-22 mm sway bars is a good solution. Some guys stay on stock spring use the lower perch that are an option with the Koni's and do the hose mod on the rear springs for a 3/4" drop.
We have speed bumps too but just mostly in parking lots and ya they suck.

Those SLP will offer little to no drop up front, but would be a big improvement over the stock V6 spring rates, and would be a good candidate for using the koni lower spring perch up front, since they offer very little drop up front. And as already stated the Hotchkis springs are also a good option for a 1" drop.
IMO, if you can try stopping once you front wheel go over a bunch of these different speed bumps, when traffic permits it to get a good visual idea of how much ground clearance you can feel safe sacrificing.

Heres a pic of my car with the SLP's and Bilsieins. It is really more of a leveling kit. I lowers the rear anywhere from 1.5-2 inches and the front about .5-.75. Just enough to get the 4x4 out but not compromise clearance.

I liked them at first but they looked more and more like flowers the more and more I looked at them. Plus I had a bit of an issue with the first set I got.

Thanks for all the info so far,
Still have 2 questions:
1, this are the SLP springs i can order by Summit racing (SLP online is difficult to order from the Netherlands, Summit is easier, i ordered several times already), are these the ones we are talking about, in the recent topic ?
2, i have a list of spring rates, which one are these ? the level 1 or the level 2
SLPonline and Summit racing, didn't show any spring rates on their website
