FAST 102/102 set-up on stock 346 cubes ?
Has anyone with a stock bottom end LS1 with heads and cam bought and install a FAST 102/102 set-up yet ? If so, I have a few questions :
1) Does your car feels like it has lost any bottom end power ?
2) Did you have your 102 Intake ported or not ?
3) What size injectors are you using ?
4) If you had dyno your car , how much power did your combo pick up over
your old set-up ?
I'm asking cause I'm in the market for an Intake and I'm not to keen on buying used parts. I know there are no 92/92 stuff out there anywhere. I currently have a LS6 Intake on my car from the factory . I guess what I'm really trying to say or ask is...........
5) Do you guys think the 102/102 set-up is overkill for a mild h/c set-up like mine ?
Thanks in advance

red- 02 trans am ws6
I heard that there is no hp gain from the 102 combo on a stock motor. I did find the fast 92 combo at the WS6STORE.com. I have mods and the 92 combo is working great for me on my modded ls6. Give them a call (ws6 store) and see if they have any left. I geuss the 102 took over and the 92 isn't in production anymore. I love my 92mm and I could feel the difference between that and the ls6 intake. The 102 is to much for a stock motor. my .02 worth good luck!

if for some ungodly reason you think the 102 is overkill then you can always run a 92mm TB.
I have the 102mm installed on my car but i cannot say much about it since the car is not back up and running yetLast edited by Dewman; 05-13-2010 at 10:34 AM.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
exactly!!! it is always about the runners ..the runner design is whats important about intakes and the 102's are redesigned and a better intake than the 92.....now that doesnt mean going from a 92 to a 102 is going to net you huge gains...i think they say stock for stock it is a increase in 5-10 rwhp on average

I posted this on LS1Tech as well. I'm getting alot of feed back and thats a good thing. Some are saying the 102 intake will be better with a 92 mm tb. I guess we could run a 90,92, or a 102 and be just fine.
From what I'm gathering is , if you have a 92/92 set-up on a stock bottom end motor ,then you wouldn't see much increase in hp or performance by going to a 102/102 set-up.
Now if you have a stock intake and installed a 102/102 set-up ,it would benefit any stock bottom end and h/c set-up . I may even go with a 92/102 set.
The real winners of a 102/102 install are guys with 383's and up . Those motors will love it .
To sum it all up ,it seems the 102 is here to stay and we are going to take it and we are going to like it .

102 mm is way overkill for the stock motor, and last time I checked, gains where only about 5 hp over the 92/92 on bigger cube motors. As a matter of fact you'll probably lose some torque putting that monster of an intake on a stock ls1. Just my opinion..
