I will post pictures of my umi strut brace tomorrow, I got it at carslisle PA spring show for a discount, I always thought it was just eye candy until i bolted it on and tourqe it to spec and felt the difference In my front shocks and steering the car reacts quicker and there is less noise now the car is super quiet. The main part is installing your parts professionally not just with a ratchet.
Heres a before picture

If anyone wants to waste the 200, send it to me I'll go out to the scrap pile and grab some pipe and a chunk or 2 of plate and weld you up one in less than 10min. I'll even throw in some trq specs
Yeah I'd spend the money elsewhere....

Not to piss anyone off though. I own a small fab business and would never charge 200+ dollars for 2 welds and not even $20 worth of stock.

STB is a great investment...however there is no difference between a UMI for $70 and a fancy shmancy one for $200.
I also professionally installed mine. The guy charged me $400 for installation and said he had to drop the oil pan to do so. Really.

There are some nicer ones that cost more. Most of the ones I've seen are simply constructed and over priced..

One listed for $308 in the second link..Last edited by Smittro; 05-13-2010 at 10:29 AM.

I just spoke with the UMI crew at carslisle they said make sure the car is on an even surface then clean the shock mount area before bolting the brace down then snugg it down with a ratchet after you center the strut brace perfectly then tourqe the nuts to spec in a symmetrical pattern then drive the car 25 miles then retourqed it again You will feel a difference this way I got this UMI strut brace from UMI at spring carslisle for a show price of $55.00
I followed their directions and it really works i wasnt going to buy it because i told them how others have said it doesnt do anything but then he said follow these directions and you will feel a difference, also if you were to ever lift your front wheels off the ground at the track i would like to have this on there aswell or if your doing hard cornering.
