Chirping/Squeaking sound (Slave Cylinder)?
There is this constant chirping/squeaking sound that I can't pinpoint. Some say it is the throwout bearing... others say it's the slave cylinder rubbing against the fork and that it could be fixed by putting some white lithium on it. So which is it? Is it a case where I can just put some grease on it and it's fine or I am I gonna have to get a new slave cylinder and most likely put in a new clutch along with it? The sound happens if I have the clutch pressed in, while I am just cruising and not shifting and also just sitting at stop lights. If I engage the clutch halfway then the chirping is more consistant. Any suggestions?

So the 2001's don't have a clutch fork? I had a 96TA and the clutch fork broke and I had to get a replacement. So are the 98-2002TA's totally different? I haven't worked on the transmission yet to know. Also read somewhere that replacement slave cylinders aren't recommended unless they from GM... also there is a fix to drill it out so it shifts better. Are there any better slave cylinders?

Nope, the slave cylinder is the clutch actuator. It looks like this
