It just runs to good to pull out for a bigger engine. So I'm having fun with it. Everyone that see's it run thinks it's a 350 anyway,,,,bawahahaha.

And would you believe the silly thing gets 24 mpg highway,,and 17-18 around town here. Hahaha.

That's because very few know how to identify what the various types of stock chevy small blocks are. Hell they still had the old 55 motor mount castings in the front of the block till they ended its production in the 90s'.lol

Ya they all look similar, it's how it runs before I even open the hood that makes people think it's more than just a 307.
If my neighbor hadn't seen the motor torn down in my garage with his own eyes, he'd still be swearing up and down it's at least a 350,,,haha
He is having a hard time coming to terms that a little 307 smokes his 67 390/4-speed mustang Everytime we take it to a local cruise, people scoff at the little 307 (still has the sticker on the shroud) and Jerry is the first one to run up there and tell them how it runs. Cracks me up. I couldn't care less what the people think but it's still funny to see there faces after Jerry tells them how it beats the FE mustang sitting next to it.

You have the potential to make a bit more power then. With todays lighter weight pistons and smaller ring packs, it would be interesting to see.

i ran vortec heads on my old 305 i had in my 92 camaro with some upgraded springs and small/mid sized cam, that with an edelbrock intake made a HUGE difference. it was like night and day.
