I'm not one to internet argue really because honestly neither of these guys is particularly worth my time but on occassion I do like a good debate as long as people keep it civil and don't start tossing insults when others don't agree with them so that's really the only reason I'll keep going.
Just for a good debate.
I read the premeditated reply earlier and thought then what I think now. When you get in a car with a BAC of .126 you're drunk enough to know you're drunk. That's premeditation in my book so those 2 cancel each other out.
Vick knowingly fought dogs, mis-treated dogs, used dog's to bolster his already sickening income, and probably did more than the public knows. At the end of the day though they were dogs. The guy Stallworth hit was a 59 year old working dude that couldn't afford a car so he took the bus. He was hit and killed by a drunk in a Bentley. He was married to the same woman for 20 years and had a 15 year old daughter. Which do you think is the bigger crime? Someone that mis-treats and kills animals or someone that takes a teenagers father from her? I would kill dogs until they were extinct before I would kill someones father. I'm a dog lover...have 2. I have nothing against dogs. I just place a larger value on human life than I do a dogs life. That's not what we're seeing between these 2 stories. From the outside looking in it appears the dogs lives were more valuable than a humans.

IMO, the issue here isn't whether Vick got "too much" punishment or not, it's that Stallworth got off way too easy....

Well we are not really debating because we agree ... All Im saying is Vick put that whole business together .. Not like being stupid one night and driving when you know you shouldnt ... Had to do all that planning getting dogs . kennels . training doggies , setting up fights and all that for who knows how long .. I still say stallworth did a worse crime but Vick is the worse criminal .. and the dogs Vick did is only one thing we know about , there could be much more ...

Yea, but I think Orions point speaks to which caused the most harm. Also, drinking and driving is premeditated. Many people like to view it as less because they have all done it. Sort of like street racing. I ask this question. Who deserves more prison time. Mike Vick the dog fighter with an elaborate dog fighting ring. or a businessman that closes his doors without paying his employees the last months payroll and keep the entire payroll to add to his millions. The employees who weren't warned lose their homes, cars, commit suicide, have marital stress etc. The businessman knows what he is doing, but because it's a white collar crime, nothing happens.

Vicks worst problem was either he thought he was to big to get in trouble or that he was to stupid to see how serious he was in trouble .. Remember he lies many time to the Falcons owner and to the NFL commissioner . which I am sure Giddle has not forgot about ... if he had wised up and told the truth in the first place .. we would prob have forgotten about all this like I bet we will about Stallworth ... and just paid a big fine ...

...and if the policemen and lawyers you referenced got caught getting a blowjob ON THE JOB they would've been fired quicker than you can say ACLU...why should the President be any different? Just another politician not being held accountable for his actions. I'm not saying he should've been impeached but still...any "common" guy would've been fired.
Anyway, guys....his sentence was MUCH stiffer than 30 days in jail. 10yrs probation, 2yrs house arrest, life long license ban etc.
Now I'm not saying it's a light sentence but it's a lot more than just 30 days.
I saw that the other day...my jaw dropped to the floor...Last edited by Frosty; 06-18-2009 at 08:02 PM.

OMFG! The DA who went for that plea bargain needs to be shot also. What a complete joke. I cant remember the last time that i've read something so ludacris! I hope to God that that the inmates in the prison that he goes to hears what that waste of semen and egg did. That guy deserves to be sodomized daily and tortured. Makes me sick.
