Vick's situation vs. Stallworth's situation
Vick knowingly engaged in a dog fighting ring......
Stallworth has plead guilty to DUI manslaughter.....which, of course, wasn't premeditated, it was an accident.
Which is worse? Who's getting off easy? Vick served 23 months in a federal prison........it appears Stallworth will serve 30 days, with 10 years probation, and 1,000 hours of community service, and also confidentially compensated the Reyes family. Stallworth cooperated with authorities.

I just don't get it sometimes. You can kill a guy unvoluntarily, and serve 30 days in jail, or you can get dogs to fight each other, and get 23 months in a federal prison.
Let's hear the opinons/arguements why you voted the way you did. I'd like to hear...........

One word.....BULLSHIT!!!!
Vick was used as an example. Sure he made a bad decision, but IMO got hit waayyy too hard. Yeah...dogfighting is brutal, but also sometimes primal in nature. Stallworth, tho it was an accident, basically gets a slap on the tights and will likely suit up again like Ray Lewis and Leonard Little (be they guilty or not.)

this was kind of my point in the other Vick thread. I think what Vick did was wrong but he served his time ( excessive time IMO) and should be allowed another chance. Someone else can take a life and not get the sentence he got. Not just stallworth either, regular people get lighter sentences than that for much worse crimes. The difference between the 2 cases is the lack of picket signs outside stallworth's court room. Vick went national overnight and had everyone and their brother on his ass. I never heard anything about stallworth outside the initial report.

Well said. It's about publicity. It's also about hypocrits. People crack me up. The President got head. Policemen, lawyers, husbands, and fathers all over the country were guilty of the same. However, there was an outcry for the President to be impeached. There is no rhyme or reason, like PETA members in the Klan.

Ummm DUH !! The american people value dogs over other human beings...sheesh
I mean have you TALKED to some of the people around lately? Obnoxious, self-righteous, mouthy ...
Really tho, part of it is we are so inundated with DUI's and death's due to them, alot of us (not me.. I have a daily reminder of the dangers of DUI) are just desensitized to that whole issue. Dogs are helpless and almost child-like in their regard to people ( depend on us for everything etc)... That and it's politcally correct to be an animal lover.. blah blah blah.. Not sayin that's how I feel.. Just my take on the situation.

It's a tough call for me to say which one is 'worse'. What Vick did was purely cruel and inhumane. He knowingly abused, tortuned and killed dogs just for fun. He is truely a sick human being and I hope he rots in hell.
With Stallworth, he used very poor judgement and killed an innocent man in the process. The bigget crime in his case is the sentence he recieved. 30 days for killing someone? WTF. $$$ bought that sentence. If it wa you or I, we'd be in prison for years.
Overall, I can't vote on which crime was worse, but as far as judgement goes, what Vick got was more than deserving and what Stallworth received was a total farce and a terrible use of our judicial system.

Damn it, I voted wrong. +1 for the DUI murder...
though there really is some weight to being not drunk and making a sober decision to break a law vs. being a dumb ass getting drunk and driving.
One of them made a tragicly bad decision that involved an accident.
The other one was thought out and wasn't exactly an accident.

Well Vick commited the crime again and again. It was premeditated and organized and probably made a lot of money off of it. Stallworth's was an accident and I'm sure some have never even done time for an accident like that. Although I have seen some get charged with murder and do 25-life. IDK why stallworth is getting off easy and others that got off even easier. HOWEVER, 10 years probabtion...holy crap, that would suck so bad...

So he hit a pedestrian that was not in a cross walk...this looks a bit messed up, but I'm sure that's just me thinking this.

I'm prepared for the ; but, who made dogs a sacred animal. We slaughter pigs, cows, chickens daily. Would he be more humane if it had been a cockfight? I'm not saying it was right, I'm just saying big deal. If he had brought lions to america to fight tigers, would we be upset. Personally, I would pay to see a lion and tiger. If he ran an underground MMA event, would he be sinless? People have their panties in a bunch. Kids are dying on the streets in America. We're worried about some damn dogs. In the Bahamas, dogs starve on the streets and people struggle to eat. It makes me wonder who or what you guys choose to feed when on vacation. As for me, I tip the kids, and I pass by the dogs.

I feel what he did was wrong but at the same time I realize there's a lot worse shit going on out there that gets a smack on the hand. How many drug dealers get busted and serve the amount of time he served for a first offense? I don't like Vick. I have no reason to root for him but me not liking him has nothing to do with the fact that he served almost 2 years when people that do shit way worse serve a month or less.
