AC Delco oil filter question
I did a search on our forum and did not find exactly what I was looking for. A PF 46 is what my LS1 uses and I was wondering if the PF 61 would work. It looks identical but is about 2" longer. Has anyone used or using the PF61 on a regular basis?
Thanks.
Tim

I always use the PF61. Longer filter increases oil capacity slightly and more filter media.

Good info! The first time I changed the oil, I looked at the filter and said, "You have got to be kidding me!"

I use the truck filter by K&N. Its got the giant nut on the bottom so i can change oil without jacking the car up...

Thanks, guys. I'm going to look into this. The stock filter looks like it goes on my lawnmmower.
I already run extended filters on my Buick DD and the wife's Pontiac van.

I've been running the PF61 forever. I've compared it to the other longer filters and found that the A/C 61 is actually a tad longer than all the others and holds a bit more.
You can find them at Walmart,,,I buy mine there all the time for $3.69
I actually stock up on them and buy 4-5 when they have them,,,,,because they seem to sell fast.
I did a write up on this comparing the size of all the available filters a couple years ago. Doing a search might turn it up.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 06-25-2009 at 02:13 PM.
