    I hate those damn bubbles

Last year I got tired of looking at the bubbled paint; especially the small pops they really stand out with black paint.

I inquired about a recall, the dealers wouldn't bite.

So I took her to a local paint shop and they figured it would be a simple project. After they shot it they put it the sun to cure and the bubbles came right back; looked even worse. I gave them a copy of the bulletin and they checked with the dealers and once again they would not honor any type of recall or warranty. I had the local paint shop replace the sail panel following the instructions on the bulletin and so far, so good.

If i recall correctly it was somewhere around $950. The reason I say "recall" is I had them wheel and wax the entire vehicle as well and that was somewhere around $200 and I believe my total bill was $1150.

Believe me, I was not thrilled with the outcome. What started out as simple fix, cost me a few bills. But at that point what else are you going to do?

When you bought the panel was it already painted?

BTW, I found this to be too funny.

Finally, today, I took my T/A out of the garage, from under her winter cover, where she was warm; protected from natures foulest elements, for the first time since...I think mid October, and. . . .it fricken snowed while I was out. OMG... Only flurries, but non the less...snow. First snow she's ever seen! What a hoot!

I had this same problem on my 2000 WS6 about 4 years ago, brought it to dealer and they said that it was covered under warranty, the body shop forman told me the glue that was used to secure the panel was causing the bubbling, they replaced the panel and used a different type of glue, have not had any more problems with it
