Need advice about the Cam Sensor.
I'm going to start on a cam swap tomorrow in my 02 WS6. I'm going with the TR224/224-112. I feel pretty comfortable with the swap as I have the GM manual and the write-up from LS1Howto.com. The one remaining issue is whether the cam sensor needs to be removed. Can anyone help me with this?

Nope. Stays in.
Did you hear something about it being removed/replaced?
I don't think the write-up on LS1howto mentions the sensor, so I am curious to why it came up.Last edited by Mr. Luos; 02-16-2006 at 05:56 PM.

You are correct; the LS1howto did not say anything about removing the sensor. My GM manual however, did say to remove as part of a cam replacement. Thanks for clarifying this for me!

Well that answers my question.
I left mine in without any problems.

Just finished the cam install today. Did not remove the cam sensor and everything went fine. Car started right up, a little valve noise at first but quieted down after a few minutes. Idle is fine but lopey enough that it is apparent that its not stock. Thanks for the comments.
