Yeah, I kinda agree on this. Nissans quality has dropped a lil in the last several years, with the start of the 02 altima. The newest infinitis and japanese made nissans are still pretty nice though. But I remember the 02 altima, and 04 and up maximas coming out and looking at them and noticing how 01 and older models build quality and materials and fit and finish were just sooo much better. Nissan needs to go back to that. They have the technology to make great cars.
that qr25de, I'm thinking its one of nissans only engine blunders in their history. they make a great engine, but that thing sure seems to fail a lot. It used to be that the precats would disintegrate and wipe out the engines. But they recalled the exhaust/pre cat assembly. If the engines are still failing theres got to be something inherent in the design.

Well I talked with the owner of the lot today and i expressed my thoughts with him about it, Nicely... He was very understanding of my issues and concerns. I told him I had vids of the problems with the milage documented after they told me it was ok. So he said he wanted to look at them. So I guess we will see what happens Wendsday. Oh and the vids were taken less than 100 miles on it from when I left the shop.

You can show your service manager you aren't the only consumer that has a vehicle with the issues with engine noise. If he still gives you a hard time, tell him you want the district service manager and service rep to hear your engine. They may be aware of this and you might not be the only customer at your dealer with the problem but Nissan might not have issued a fix and might not approve a warranty engine for these vehicles hence them being forced to lie to you. It happens. He might be forced to even though he doesnt want to.

My wife looked up these issues online somwhere, not sure where but alot of folks are making the same complaints I have. I was shocked to see how many there was. I think she googled service bullitins or recalls and found it. That site had lots of info on it about all vehicles. Somwhere on there was a place to make complaints to the goverment. If the dealer continues to avoid the obvious she plans on filing on also.
