It's made me consider finding a mom and pop place. Maybe I need to get away from the dealership bullshit. With the economy the way it is, people can't afford new cars so they will be repairing their current ones more and more. It'd be nice to actually get cash work for a change. The Hyundai warranty at my last job totally ass raped me, and i'm still hurting if you haven't noticed lol

My dad quit his managers position because of this. Too many idiots wanting stuff done for free so he went back to turning wrenches as his day job. That way he got the least amount of shit if he did his job right.
Even though im laid off for a few weeks I have done probably 5 vehicles repairs so im still comfy without unemployement..

I won't work for a dealership again. But it's mostly because I like being the man in charge.. Can't deal with someone telling me what to do. I am self motivated and have the typical A1 personality type Heh..
We still have some warranty issues, but it's mostly due to the tech pooching the repair, or the writer selling the repair incorrectly. Not many actual parts failures. Altho they do happen. That or the typical customer that wants the job done half-assed.. Timing belt only, no tensioner or idlers etc. that kinda crap..

See if NTB07-021A applies to your car.
As far as the TPWS light remember for every 10 deg. of temp drop you lose 1 psi. If the tires are 80 deg and set at 32 temp drops 40 degrees light will probably come on. Nissans turn the light on around 27-28 psi.
T/A 11973 is you moms truck drive by wire? If it is there is no need to clean the throttle plate. They tend to come back and set TPS codes. And many times the ECM has to be flashed(on older models) to get it to relearn.
I haven't seen a single drive by wire Nissan with a driveablity issue due to throttle plate carbon.
And I have to agree with almost everyone here. I've been a dealer tech for 20 years(Nissan products for 17) and there are some criminals at dealerships.

There was no SES light at the shop, they just said it needed to be done....and this was correct, but they didnt perfrm the job and still chargd for it and yea it was like 200 bucks.....anyway i was driving the car a week later and it started acting up....so I checked the codes and took some of it apart and it was filthy. Obvious that they didnt do shit ad just charged her for it. This one dealership always tacks random bullshit on though....I will look at her service report and I cant beleive some of the stuff they told her she needed and what she paid for it.....So I told her I dont care how busy I am from now on you call me before you do anything and I will come over first and check it out...............at least at this dealership they are full of shit....oh yeah and they charged like 17.00 for washer fluid fill lol lol lol, which like and idiot she paid( but she is a women that knows 0 about cars) and they dealer didnt even fill it up.........

holy crap! wow you really arent kidding then about them being a really bad dealer. I'VE NEVER EVER HEARD OF A CHARGE FOR WASHER FLUID! EVER! On every car that comes in for any kind of underhood service that I work on, the washer fluid gets topped off. Automatic. No charge. Its just washer fluid. Hell you can buy a whole gallon of it for like 2 dollars. Places like this I really wish would go bankrupt.

I've found that most places sell the TBIF (throttle body injector flush) as just a maintenance thing. I can attest to having cars come in with a complaint on how the throttle sticks at tip in. Cleaning the plate does fix the issue, however 200 bucks is highway robbery for the service to alleviate that problem. Especially when you can take a can of carb cleaner and just spray it clean yourself for about 4 dollars.

exactly what i told her......this dealership is horrible...but from now I told her she has to come to me first before anything......her last service write up was like 650.00......I could have done it all for about 120.00 in supplies/parts at the most...and of course I am not gonna charge my mom for labor....haha.....some places are unbelievable

650.00 tickets aren't unheard of, specifically on a car with miles that isn't maintained. The parts are expensive and most shops these days have a pretty high labor rate. The hyundai shop I was last at had a 92.00 dollar an hour diagnostic charge. It sounds expensive to people, but cars are expensive. Its 2008 and you have to account for inflation. It sucks because the dealers make all that money on the labor and parts and only give the techs a fraction of that money. Thefore the techs wanna sell as much easy maintenance work as they can just to make a living, and then the customer always feels like they are getting screwed. Its real simple, dont like the prices to have your car worked on, do it yourself. But I'd wager that about 85-90 percent of the customers i've ever had can't use a hammer and a screwdriver. Nevermind actually diag anything.

This car isnt old and its well maintained....she drives it 8 miles to work and back....Its just this dealership she got the car at. I dont know why she takes it back there....I mean they arent always full of it. At times certain things are needed on the car, like the TB did need to be cleaned etc...but as we all know they didnt do it...and then there is the things like windshield wiper fluid charge and other little dumb things like that, that they try to tack on and its complete bullshit

Not all Nissan dealerships are bad. My Mom bought a new 99 Altima top of the line when new and she always took it to the dealer to have things checked out like noises and vibrations and believe it or not they never took advantage of her and yes I was shocked and still surprized because I hate all dealerships I mean Stealerships. She just bought a 08 and gave me her old one with 215,000 miles and never one major problem with it. That old 99 with 215k miles drives and looks almost new. I hope the 08 is just has good.
