Meh, if I had a Sarge-level bank account I'd have both.
Choosing between the two though, while I really want a Viper, it's almost too exclusive, less mod friendly, and just has a much smaller crowd in general than the z06. I'd buy one as a show car and a status symbol, but as a fun car...z06 for sure.
Z06's aren't under limited production, they are very mod-friendly and have arguably the biggest community out there. And while yes, there seems to be a vette in every mid-upper class driveway lateley, there's so much out there for them that personalizing yours isn't difficult.
A Viper, I'd be scared to drive, touch, mod, anything (same with a ZR1 which is why I havn't mentioned), but a Z06, not so much. It would just me more fun to own in general.
Bottom line, I like the Viper better, but would have more fun with the Vette. Would only buy the snake if I could afford both.

Though the vette would definitely be a blast to drive & can be fairly easily modded, I have to give the Viper the win. Soooo many vettes are on the streets every day-they seem to be a dime a dozen (no offense to the vette owners lol). How often do you see a Viper go by, though? If I had the financial means to choose one or the other, I'd be the proud new owner of an extremely powerful, sleek, exotic-looking, and sexy Dodge!!!

well ill agree that you do see alot of vettes. But you also see a shit ton of f-bodys v6 or v8 either one.. You dont see very many Z06's though. Where im at there are a few vettes and alot of f-bodys (mostly v6s), but ive only seen 1 c6 Z (yellow 07) and only 1 viper ( a bright yellow 98). So id have to agree if you want a nice fun car to mod go with the vette. If your looking for a nice show car go with the viper. Personally i think cars like these were made for go not show so id have to take the Z06 FTW!

I see a few Z06's here, and just saw a yellow Viper two days ago. Id take either given the chance, but would actually buy the Vette.

are you saying the viper has no go?
as far as im concerned, the viper is the epitome of brute force. 8.3 liters, 8.3!!! whats the HP rting of the viper up to now? 625 or something like that? fucking wow.
I also like the styling of the viper better than the vette, especially the roadster.

If you want to draw attention to yourself and have a great car then the Viper because it will draw a crowd. If you want less flashiness then the ZO6. Performance wise they are very close so you can't go wrong with either one.

a lot of people keep referring to the "flash" and "exotic" qualities of the viper. its a lot more than that.

Getting close to having the "plan"....I get a new 09 Vette LS3. Mod the suspension a tad http://www.callawaycars.com/las/C16components.htm and let Lingenfelter have their way with it... http://www.lingenfelter.com/C6LS3sSCIC122.htm
I got a monster/custom/under 90K that will run with anything.Last edited by Sarge; 11-16-2008 at 05:28 AM.
